As a formal collegiate athlete and someone who has had 10 orthopedic surgeries I can empathize with the dilemma of chronic pain and trying to stay fit. I have been a physical therapist for 20 years and I finally realize that the relationship between mental health and chronic pain is heavily based on the foods we eat. At CORE Personal Training our goal is to free you from chronic pain and insecurity of being out of shape. We teach clients how to eat and how to move in order to achieve not only their ideal physical look, but their ideal mental state.
I’m a 52 year-old mother of five. I was a volleyball player starting at a very young age and played in two national championships at the collegiate level at Rockhurst University. I have five kids and my last two were twins that were born by way of cesarean section in 2013. In May 2015 I had a lumbar fusion at L4 L5 L5 S1. As you can imagine, I am not a stranger to chronic pain and pain preventing me from achieving my fitness goals. Through the CORE Personal Training nutrition and exercise program I have been able to reduce my pain, change my body, and exercise at the level that I want to as well as Coach club and high school Volleyball with minimal to no pain.
I’m a health professional, author, and resilience advocate based in Kansas City, MO. As a lead coach at CORE Personal Training, I bring over a decade of experience in fitness coaching, helping thousands of clients—both in-person and online—reach their health goals and unlock peak performance.
My work goes beyond fitness. I’ve authored four books, including Healthy Made Easy: A How-To Guide to Sustaining Healthier Eating Habits, which offers actionable strategies for long-term wellness. I’ve also written two children’s books: The Fun Adventures of Willie and Abel, which teaches kids about the power of willingness and ability in overcoming obstacles, and The Fun Adventures of Hope and Grace, another book in the series that teaches the power of having hope and giving grace.
My own health journey is a testament to the power of discipline and holistic wellness. As a survivor of Crohn’s disease, I achieved remission naturally—without medication—and shared my experience in a documentary that went viral online. Going from 153 lbs at my lowest to a healthy 198 lbs can serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for those facing similar challenges.

My mission is to inspire sustainable change, and through social media and real-life coaching, I’m proud to help others take control of their health and transform their lives.
I have spent the last 10 years working with the top 5% of officers in the Army, guiding them how to be stronger, faster, improve body composition, and live a healthier life. With a Masters in Exercise Physiology and having played collegiate sports, I am hoping to bring my experience and background to helping others improve their quality of life, feel stronger, and more confident in everything they pursue. Currently, as a Director and Coach at Optimum Volleyball Club, I get to help young girls accomplish their goals and see them find success on and off the volleyball court.
